Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks

If your a Seahawks fan then you have to be highly disappointed in the 08 season. Before the season started I remember linebacker Leroy Hill making the statement that he predicts the defense will have at least 5 shutouts this year. They sure haven’t lived up to that statement. As it is right now they are 3-12. That’s right 3 wins. After they lost all hopes of going to the playoffs I wanted them to win. They will be back next year and that’s a fact. I am hoping that they will be high enough in next years draft to get a guy named Michael Crabtree of Texas Tech. The hawks need a big and physical reciever like Crabtree. What a nice dream for any seahawks fan. Matt Hasselbeck throwing deep every play to Crabtree for touchdowns. Ok, so not every play.

Today, I was cheering the St. Louis Rams on against the Seahawks. At half time the rams went into the locker room with a 17-7 lead. They were blitzing the hawks like crazy. The rams looked as advertised behind the running of Steven Jackson. Ofcourse the rams would blow the game 23-20 only scoring 3 points in the second half. This made me upset because that gives the seahawks a better record than the rams. So, the rams will draft higher than the hawks. Oh well the Seahawks deserved to win even know the sat out most of their starters.

If the Seahawks are listening PLEASE DRAFT CRABTREE. Go Hawks.

Tim Tebow Will succeed in the Nfl

Whether you are into college football or not you have probably heard the name Tim Tebow before. Almost everybody will agree that he is a great college football quarterback for the University of Florida Gators. Now not everybody will agree that he is going to be a great NFL player. First of all this guy is a leader and a game changer. He has the presence on the field and controls his offense just like Peyton Manning, he has the running strength of a Fullback like Mack Strong, and the arm of Tom Brady. It Tim actually had some better running backs he might not have to run as often as he does but the important thing is he finds a way to win. Tim Tebow is a great all around leader on and off the field. So, why wouldn’t you want a guy like that on your nfl team?

No two people are exactly the same. People are judging Tebow based off of what has happened to the previous quarterbacks of U.F. Do you know any of these names: Grossman, Doug Johnson, Chris leak, Shane Matthews, Danny Wuerffel? Maybe one or two but these are the names that Tim is following. History has shown us that the Gators Qb’s do great in college but suck in the NFL. Tebow is different period. In 2006 Gators coaches took a different direction than the typical pocket passer type qb they have had in the past. Tebow can run with power, throw with decent accuracy, go deep on the fade routes and he runs the option play perfectly. You know the play where the tight end acts like a lead blocker for tebow with the running back running beside him. Tim then can run it himself, pitch it to the half back or toss it to the tight end. So many times I saw this one play go for big yards.

People will say that he is a great player and they will see what he can do on the film but unfairly judge how this will translate into the NFL. Some are saying he will have to change positions to be a Full Back or a Tight End. Bull crap. If he does go in the 2009 Nfl draft he will be a mid to late first round draft pick. If he does enter the draft then a team that runs the west coast offense would suit him best. With more and more teams switching over to a version of the west coast offense I don’t see why Tim won’t be successful. I am betting that if he goes in the draft he will get drafted by the 49ers or the Bears. Hopefully I am wrong and he falls to the second round and the seahawks draft him. Hasselbeck is getting old and being plagued by injuries and Seneca isn’t a good enough passer to be a starter for the Hawks. Go Hawks of ’09!
